Why Mysterious Faith?
Why call this site Mysterious Faith? Because it nicely sums up two things I believe are most essential to authentic spirituality: a life of faith based on acknowledged mystery and wonder about the nature and outworkings of God.
My hope in establishing this web site is to create a forum for complex issues to be discussed intelligenty with others. I also wish to catalogue my own spiritual journey; being honest about those issues I struggle with relative to the personality of God and the complexities of living a life of authentic spirituality.
Because I believe that real spirituality will manifest itself first and primarily in how we treat others, specifically the down-trodden and the disadvantaged, this site will engage in discussions on social issues, foreign policy, and to some degree politics.
Politics is a dicey issue in any forum; however, my hope is to foster dialogue that motivated others towards meaningful activism. We live in a day and age that is becoming increasingly complicated; the media culture of today does very little to help the average American become better educated on these highly complex issues. To the extent that this site can be a forum of balanced discussion, I am happy to provide the moderation.
