Chicago Wedding Pictures - July 21, 2007

My brother-in-law was married last weekend in Chicago. They opted for a really creative wedding - on a boat (”The Summer of George”) - and were well rewarded for the risks they took. The weather was stunning, and we ended the boat cruise on Lake Michigan with the Saturday night fireworks put on by the city of Chicago off the end of Navy Pier. The city spends about $250,000 a night on the fireworks during the summer; you really can’t top that as a send-off now can you? Additional pictures of the city, specifically the architecture along the river, is included. Jen and I took a cruise down the river w/ a guide who educated us on the architecture of Chicago. The experience added a lot to our shared appreciation and enjoyment of architecture. Pictures will be posted to Flickr tomorrow. All the best Jon & Nat and thanks for a great weekend!

P.S. To my fellow comic book geeks: the next Batman was filming while in Chicago. If you look closely, about 1/2 the way through the slide show you’ll see what looks like a police station with a sign reading “Gotham Police Station” … it’s actually an old USPS warehouse in Chicago being used in the movie.
